Red Ocu II

18 June 2017 - 03:44 AM

I finish another one, it is similar like previous cos customer want so. I used mainly again cocobolo crosscut slabs, zebrano, bloodwood, wenge, boire, purpleheart on baltic birch plywood. Sandet town to 2000 grit and oiled 2x times thick flooroil. I forgot the buffing phase, but looks like it not needed, cos the oil covers very well, its almost like glassy surface. My flashgun brings on some dust particles, what are invisible in naked eyes, i must figure out, how to take better photos. So far lots of cleaning in photoshop :Dclear.png
But let the pictures speak itself:

Nordic gem

06 April 2017 - 12:02 AM

I started this knife last month. This gem is now polished and done. I’m surprised how rich is the colour palette, all those yellow-greenish gradients to blue and dark blue, like ocean. And surface plays in light like satin.
Blade, made by Mart Kekišev, is an amazing job, many hundred layers of damask. I must make a sheath as well and then its ready to do some cutting work. When I start this project, I plan build it up another blade from Lauri, but middle in process I change my mind.
