Typical "break in" practice using the Taurus "Terminator"

20 April 2017 - 11:49 AM

Typical practice for a first use slingshot... getting a feel for the angle, length from hand and so forth.

From 10 meters hit the match tip a little better than 50%... and once used to the setup, quite a bit better.

After watching the video, I think the double match light at the end may have been only one match catching the other on fire... and I actually did chop both matches like what was intended... just couldn't see it from the shooter's perspective, black tip/ dark background...

Taurus 2

15 April 2017 - 12:03 PM

Based on my old Taurus and Paladin designs... This one is extremely ergonomic, ambidextrous, easily pocketed and just the right size for a variety of shooting needs.

I'm thinking about sending this one off to Peter Hogan and get some castings done.

Tree hanging match light, 2 points of view

Still playing with the AimCam and trying to use my regular camera view as well...

A little more shooting with the AimCam glasses, a couple FPV match lights!

31 March 2017 - 12:52 PM

Found some old UCO strike anywhere camping matches... and decided to give them a go by microwaving them for a couple minutes. The results... some fairly easy to light matches!

Still not quite as good as the matches for my youth... those you could throw them on the ground and light them if you threw hard enough... These not quite that easy, but if you get a decent hit exactly on the tip of the tip, they do seem to light up more frequently and have a bigger flame than the other brands.

Unfortunately... I can't seem to find a source for any new ones now!

Anyway, here's the video and you know what? I think I'm getting the hang of having these glasses on... I took the lenses out and now I can see perfectly clear again!

Drone suspended can killing

28 March 2017 - 05:36 PM

Here's one I forgot to post....

What some of you may not know is, I'm actually a very good drone pilot... and actually spend a fair amount of time with the kids playing air combat and stunt flying.

Anyway, I got Daranda to pilot our camera drone and told her to keep it not to easy, but not to hard either... and here's what happened:

The first "on youtube" slingshot cutting a suspended from drone can cut!

Since that day, it's been to windy to do to much drone flying outside and try any cool shots... but soon the spring time winds will be over and we'll get to try some neat shots... like cards and matches!
