We in California have the same problem but with Mountain Lions! They used to offer a limited number of hunting tags to regulate the population until it made it on the ballot. All the people who lived in the cities voted to protect the cute kitties! They have killed joggers and mountain bikers as well as may pets and livestock. The argument is that we have trespassed into their territory and it's our fault, but when a big cat ended up in the middle of Palo Alto, CA in a tree 1 block from a grammar school, you would think the public would be concerned for the children's safety. NOPE! The police officer who shot it was drummed out of town!
Check it out! This was in the middle of the city. They think the big cat used one of the drainage creeks to enter the city. http://www.paloaltoo...tory.php?id=142
The problem with sweeping laws to ban hunting of these predators is it's based on emotion and not in the best interest of the public, their livestock, and the predators themselves. Common sense is dead!

Nice work as usual! Next time I'm up at my cabin clearing brush, I will cut out a bunch of Manzanita and send you a box.

Well, John-Boys slingshot came in and I love it. It's a nice natural with dual Theraband gold bands that really zing .44 cal led hard! I took out a Pidgin that uses my car as a toilet at 50 yards, dead as a door nail. I have to admit I was just lobing a shot at it to get it out of the tree in my front yard from my front porch, but the lead found it's mark. My boa loved it. My wife and kids...not so much.
I will post pictures of this nice little natural later.
Thanks again John-Boy!

Do yourself a favor and use an epoxy that has a long work time. Don't get a 5 minute! If they sell hardener separately, get the longest working hardener they have. Fiberglass boat repair kits are OK and can be found at automotive parts shops and hardware stores. The stuff I like the best is from archery making supply shops. You can find them on line.
You can also glue pieces of fabric (denim) or colored paper in between the layers of wood for an interesting look.
Good luck!

Ya know, I just keep on looking at it and appreciating it more and more! Please give some detail on how you made it! I make laminate bows so I can really appreciate it.
A true work of art!
