I like flat band slingshots, I find them so much more efficient. However, I've yet to try the Chinese style with double tubes, so many positive things have been said about them. I like many types of slingshots, but especially ones that are portable. This is necessary for a guy who is a traveller. I also like to test my equipment against the locally available slingshots. I've found some pretty interesting ones, from water buffalo horns to full blown slingshot long guns that are taller than I am.

I cast my own lead balls, a skill I aquired from my muzzleloading days. Since I live overseas, I had to find something that would allow me to fling lead. Firearms are usually(but not always) out, a real drag for me. Slingshots became the fix for my jones. Wheel weights are easily aquired everywhere I go, so casting is more sustainable than obtaining steel balls for me. There is also a very cool do-it-yourself factor, and it's nice to know you can have consistant ammo wherever you go.

I also enjoy using slings, throwing weapons, tracking, camping, and just about anything else that has to do with survival skills. I have a small collection of knives that I value greatly. I enjoy learning languages as well, it makes life cheaper in foreign countries. Saudi Arabia, where I currently live, can be an extremely dull place so it's good to keep yourself occupied with hobbies in your spare time to keep from going stir crazy.
