About Me
I live in Independence, Kentucky...which is in the extreme northern tip. I am married and have a 6yr old beautiful girl, and a 16 yr old step daughter. I work for the county public works for my daily job. I have a side business, Raceday Keepsakes, where I design and sell motorcycle racing memorabilia.
I have quite a few hobbies. I used to race offroad motorcycles before setbacks with knee surgeries. I raced nitro offroad R/C cars for a couple of years after the motorcycles, and continue to tinker with them more casually. I still have a small R/C track in my backyard that I maintain almost as much as my garden. Yes, I also have a vegetable garden where we grow corn, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, brocoli, green beans etc.
I have a high-end mountain bike I also enjoy riding at the local mountain bike park, where there is 12 miles of maintained trails. I guess this takes the place of the years I spent on motorcycles. I'm a licensed Amateur Radio operator holding the highest class license of Amateur Extra. Mainly during the winter months, I enjoy transmitting around the world on 100 watts, with a homebrew fan dipole antenna.
This is how I became introduced to slingshots. A couple of years ago the Ohio Valley region was hit with a massive ice storm. The ice damaged my antenna, and some local FM operators suggested I get a slingshot to rehang my antenna, as it's supported on both ends with string running through trees. I went to a local sporting goods and puchased a Marksman. After shooting the included ammo, I was starting to get hitched. I browsed the net and the rest is history.
This is a great hobby. I enjoy making slingshots as much as shooting them. I've started taking an interest is leather craft as of recent, and intend on fusing the two hobbies with one another.
