Osage Slingbow

22 February 2017 - 10:44 PM

Hey guys! After I finished the bamboo slingbow, I wanted to do another that was all from a single material. (I wanted it to be walnut, but I'll get to that later on. )I had a nice big piece of thin Osage that was ideal for laminating. So, long story short, I laminated 7 layers together, cut away and filed away at the excess. Did a lot of sanding, finished with tung oil and paste wax, and here she is! I'm already planning the next few of these as well. Also, some slingshots. Hehe. Thanks for looking!

Salvaged Slingbow Build

15 February 2017 - 11:43 PM

Hey guys. This is a slingbow I started last summer. When I started this one, I didn't have my own drill press or the forstner bits I use now and screwed the main hole for arrows to pass through up by cutting it crooked. :/ This is purely an aesthetic defect though, as the slingbow works perfectly anyway. So, about a week ago, I decided to finish this one. It was mostly there already. I just had to sand it and finish it. I'm actually impressed with how well it turned out despite the mistake. Its even got a home waiting for it in Texas. Thanks for looking!

Bradford Pear Natty

Hey again! This was a quick little build I knocked out recently. Made from a Bradford Pear fork I happened across one night while on break at work. Finished with tung oil and paste wax. Thanks for looking!

Hey guys! I've been working quite a bit on slingbows lately, but I managed to sneak in a couple of slingshot as well. Here is one. As I said, it's from a hickory fork. Finished with tung oil and paste wax. Not much else to say about her. Thanks for looking!!

Bamboo Slingbow

02 February 2017 - 02:20 PM

Hey guys! I've been finishing up some builds lately and here is the latest. I started this about a year ago. Made from all bamboo. Got the whole thing from one cutting board. I added some ally pins to the handle as the result of a happy accident. :D Finished it up with tung oil and paste wax. Thanks for looking!
