Here is my new catch box. I was on you tube searching for a good one that I could make and could take with me. I ran across a man named Perry (?) who posted his video of one he had made just like this. He even left contact info in the remarks so you could call and have one made. I called but the lady never got back to me. I then went to a seamstress friend of mine and showed her the video. She said she could make one. This was her prototype. I love it! Thank you to Perry whoever you are! This box has never dropped a bearing! The great thing about it is I can put it in a bag..... with that being said you still need the dowel and something to hang it on. I use a plant hanger and just toss it in the back of my truck if I am going somewhere to shoot but I'm sure there are other ways to do this. Don't know how to rotate pics ...sorry.

That catch box was the brainchild of Pawpawsailor a member (former?) of this forum. Quite brilliant design I might add. I ordered one a little over four years ago and am still using it. Very functional and portable. Most of the ammo collects in the rear corner for easy pick up with few "bounce outs".
Perry is also a great picklefork shooter and designer.

Nice! Super light weight and easy to carry.

Nice.. I bet instead of a dowel you could use an old fiberglass tent pole that breaks down.. and be able to compact it even more.. just a thought
Good idea! As with popular tent designs of nearly the last 50 years, perhaps a "pop-up," self-standing catchbox could be devised that only needs bowed tent poles to erect. Also like similar tents, you'd still want to stake it on windy days or you might end up chasing after your catchbox if the wind were to inflict it with tumbleweed syndrome! :panic:

I really like the idea of a free standing one? Any engineers in the forum that can design that??? I don't think I could do that! Ugh!
