I had some scrap wood laying around so I tried a pfs. Still have some finishing work to do but before I get too close to wrapping it up I wanted to know if y'all thought I should put some banded grooves on. Thoughts?

I just got into fabricating slingshots so I am still figuring things out. I know this isn't up to the level I see on the forum from others, but I just wanted some ideas on this experiment.

If you wrap tight enough, you won't need slots. But then, I put slots!

It is a fine wee catty!! I would at least put a grove on either side of the V. If you don't ,as you shoot the ties will work thier way to the tip and slip.

Any PF is a great PF! I struggle with leaving enough fork to tie to and have tried grooves. I found them to be superfluous when enough fork is given. If you shoot it enough you'll be changing ties faster than it can creep over the top. As far as I know, there are no instructions indicating the necessity for grooves in the OPFS design Darrell made available.

That's a nice shape. I don't know whether you should put grooves in it, though.
