Hello Slingshotforum friends!!
Before I leave on vacations, I just took the opportunity to make another natural slingshot. This one was made out of a very old oak cork branch that was lying on the ground in a forest near Sintra (Portugal) and that I was fortunate to find. Quercus suber branches good for slingshots are not easy to spot, since the bark (cork) has too much volume and the appearances might be deceitful. But I think this one turned out to be a good, accurate slingshot. The unusual darker color was the result of a linseed oil soak. Finished with some shellac and equipped with nasty 2cm wide TB Gold.
Thanks for watching and enjoy :)

Nice finish to it.

Thanks Charles and Treefork!!! Shellac is my favorite finish, although sometimes I use beeswax (for lighter woods is more natural)

very nice Q! saw that when you posted it the other day asking about the linseed oil, it really did darken quite considerably! i think i'll be finishing my Quercus suber off with a bit of tung oil and some beeswax : )
