Hello all... another newb (from CT) looking to get back into slingshots after the wrist rockets of my long forgotten youth.
I'm a shooting sports enthusiast and enjoy all types of projectile weapons - firearms, bows, airguns. I happened to follow a "pocket predator" link on another forum and was intrigued enough to buy one. I only have about 500 shots under my belt so far, but based on even that small sample, I think this could be another great hobby to pick-up... it really checks a lot boxes for me.
- inherently accurate, challenging, fun
- low cost, reusable and/or free ammo
- DIY, field serviceable - just need bands
- survivalist tool - perhaps not self-defense, but certainly food procurement
- ultra-portable with great power/weight ratio
- legal and discreet/silent - carry and practice anywhere
Durability/maintenance is an open question though... I understand Theraband Golds max out around 1k rounds or so, we'll see what the band replacement exercise is like - already have a 6yrd roll on order.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to learning from you good folks, and hope I can eventually contribute something as well.
