The only ammo I buy anymore is 3/8 and 1/4 steel, which I use only for testing. I get those from the Sporting Goods section of a local hardware store. I used to buy decorator marbles from a local department store.

If you are in Oz, hit up DollarBill. He recently did me a great deal on a few thousand steel BB's.

I was about to recommend xxDollarBillxx, too. Can't say enough good about my last order, and to be honest, can't imagine ordering from anyone else while I'm in Oz.
Instead of going to a toy shop or ebay, keep your ear to the ground here - I believe there are some other ammo dealers on the forum. You'll get a better deal that way most likely.

I eventually went with Royal Steel Ball myself.
More of an initial outlay of cash, but I never had 25 lbs, of ammo in my life!
It's nice to have 1/2 a kids bucket full!
