I was relieved more than anything. I was so tired of using yellow Daisy tubes.

Night and day.

Nothing wrong with the Thera-gold at all, it's just me. :)

Getting everything all laid out, cutting mat, wheel cutter, ruler, then measure, dot, measure again just to be sure, factor in a taper?
Press firmly on thera with ruler, make sure your concentrating on cut so you don't jump, make a clean cut, oh crap I wasn't pressing firmly
enough on this one spot, will have to go over it again...

For me it was a bit of a pain going through it all, and in hindsight as time moves along I'm sure I would get better with it but it was
taking a bit of the "fun" out of it for me.

Then, thanks to a few good threads on here I discovered 107's, which are all pre-cut, and is really nice for the "plinker"
like me, a tin can chaser, who doesn't hunt or care too much about FPS it was a bit of a Godsend.

Sean i understand what you mean but let me also say this.

A green Cutting mat with 1cm graduations in a grid pattern and a solid thick ruler with a rotary cutter makes cutting bands very easy.

I line up theright angle for the TBG and make sure its truely 90Deg. I cut off a piece at 24cm using the grid which is marked every 5cm. The a single cut at 5cm. The a single diagonal cut from 3cm on one side to 2cm on the other. Effectively making two bands. The whole process takes literally a minute and is no sweat at all.

Maybe if you were making hundreds i could see the problem but for the average hoe enthusiast this is really not an issue.

I could understand if you are measuring and marking how annoying that could be, but like i said a cutting mat with 1cm grid pattern with 5cm markings all the way up (i Use a Size A2 Mat,

594 x 420 mm or

23.4 x 16.5 in) but anything with the grid pattern will do.

When you go to make the cut you dont hold the band you place a rule across the cut point and use a SHARP rotary cutter.

Honestly its effortless.

....But without the right tools its a nightmare.

I find using a craft ruler helps as they don't slip as much, however make sure the millimeter marks are not protruding as they will blunt your roller cutter. If they are sand them down :)

Thanks guys for your input/help. I guess I might have made it out to be worse than it is. Maybe in the future I'll give
it another go, or, I'll buy 'em already made up, they are a fantastic slingshot band they are.
