I don't know if this helps but I buy these work gloves at wal-mart and they work great for pouches!
I appreciate those that want to fabricate, build and customize themselves. The personal reward, that one gets, from accomplishment of self set goals is un-measurable.There is nothing like, catching a big Brownie, on a fly pattern that you dreamed up and tied up yourself. The pure "rush", of bow hunting, the first time, in many years, using a weapon that you have customized, arrows that you have built from raw shaft, utilizing ideas and advice, from members on, an on-line forum, such as this. I read/listened, tested and then came up with my own theories about string, shaft, nock , fletch, BH choice, The reward is when, the results your choices prove to exceed all your expectations.
i received a Pro Diablo II straight from Barnett, today and the pouch was 5" long and 1" wide LOL. The leather began to break after 5 shots.I picked up a couple lbs of leather scraps from the local fabric warehouse the other day and plan on tying up a selection of pouches to weight and test.. I built me a pouch molding jig, so that I can make, fitted and molded pouches.
To me, there are several considerations, when choosing pouch leather.Durability/strength ( including tear strength), flexibility, and weight. I use synthetic sinew, to sew my leather projects. It is the toughest stuff ever. Very hard to cut, I am going to weave a pouch tomorrow and test out.It is going to be near weightless and extremely tough as well as rip-resistant.
i am interested in the brand of glove though. How many pouches does one figure we could get out of a pair??
Has anyone tried catfish, snake or shark skin??
I found a "shot gun "pouch for slingshots, on-line, last week. I will rig it up soon. It is a small cup that is attached to a pouch with stainless steel bracket.BBs are poured into the cup, the cup close as you draw hold the BBs in the pouch until you release. The videos of this product was interesting.
