Greeting, Slingers, Abe Stranger here.

I have recently started work on a plan to organize a small slingshot tourney in Colorado. The plans are still in the fledgling stages of development, but I am very enthusiastic about the idea, and hope to have everything worked out before the end of the summer. The date I have in mind is for a September, perhaps early October, weekend. Would anybody in the area—or even New Mexico, Wyoming, Utah, Kansas—be interested in collaborating on a project like this? I’m not talking about a big event, more like a largish picnic or BBQ featuring slingshots, target shooting…whatever else we can think of. I’m open to any suggestions.

P.S. It needs a name. I like “The Great Colorado Shootout”

I'm working on a layout right now, and will post it a little later.

I'd probably go; haven't been back to Colorado for a long time. Kinda depends on what part, though.

What part of the state do you guys think would be the best? I know nobody wants to come to the Springs. Woodland park seems like a good choice.

September/October in Colorado brings flashbacks of being stuck in traffic between Vail and Denver for 5 hours due to leaf peepers, only to get to Denver and be stuck for another 2 because a Broncos game just let out. :cursin:

People wouldn't go to the Springs area? Hmmm. What about north of the Big Omlette?

Would mid-summer be a better time, regardless of location?
