I have been looking at pulley designed slingshots that allow for an extra 6 or 7 inches of band length .... which leads me to this :

If that same pulley slingshot had it's band connection point extended that same 6 or 7 inches further forward, INSTEAD of the pulleys, would it make the approximate same velocity, since the bands would ne the same length ?

I hope that made sense LOL ...

To be honest I think it would create MORE velocity since it has a longer powerstroke.

As soon as the bands stop accelerating the ammo, you are done. So as Natural Fork says, if you can get a longer power stroke, you will get more velocity. Also remember that there is some power loss going over the rollers. The down side of the forward fork is the tendency of the forward forks to slew to one side, so most require a wrist brace. In my opinion, about the best design of this sort is the Combo Sling ... it has forward forks and rollers at the front end. That gives a very long power stroke with no slack bands.

Is there ANY reason why using a wrist brace is in any way a negative thing ?
