Once again, hello from another Newb. I am going to build three slingshots, and man do I ever have some questions ! So we will start with the first one I want to build ... I am going to build a copy of this :

Attached File  photo_slingshot_vlastimil7.jpg   182.21K   1 downloads

And here are my first questions :

Where to get the really small bands like that ?

Since i can not see the backside of the slingshot, I can not tell how the bands secure on the backside. I can see the bands pass from back to front, then loop back through from front to back. Can anyone tell me how they most likely secure in back ?

And lastly ... Any reason this would not be just as good made from aluminum ?

Thanks much for any and all advice

My question about this one is does anyone possibly have any more photos of it ? Maybe from the back side ?

Thanks much !

Oh yeah .... I can see how the bands pass through the eyes of the leather pouch and wrap around about an inch ... But can someone tell me what is being used to tightly wrap around the band to secure it after it is folded ? Almost looks like a regular red rubber band LOL

where to but the bands? do a google search.

you can see the bands go through the back and the emerge through the front, the white loop is a retainer, you than loop the band around the retainer and push it back so the bands beginning and end are facing the shooter.

metal is always stronger than wood.

I want to tank all of you for the help and advice ! I have decided to build just ONE slingshot instead, and I have goals and aspirations for it to be the ultimate slingshot ... At least that is what I hope will happen LOL. To answer a question from earlier .... yes, I do indeed have a machine shop.
