This is probably the LAST thing I needed to find... a forum dedicated to my old friend, the slingshot.
I'm 50 years old and it has been decades since I made or carried a slingshot. I have three sons, so it was only a matter of time until they discovered those rubber-powered wonders. Back when I was a kid in the mountains of South Carolina we hunted squirrel, grouse, & rabbit with our home made slingshots. Muzzleloading rifles were, and are, still common in the area and so were the moulds for round balls. We would scrounge lead and wheelweights for ammo. When all else failed, though, we had nicely rounded rocks from the fast running rivers & streams.
At any rate, it has been a looong time. I am far out of touch with the new power bands and frame designs. I'd appreciate any links to new frame design or even thoughts on some of the aluminum & steel frames I see on eBay. Any better than the dogwood forks we used as kids? Where can good flat bands be found?
Too many questions....
Thanks!
