A friend of mine has an awful problem with squirrels on his property. They wreck his garden and likely be stealing his shiitake mushrooms when they sprout. Do mushrooms sprout? So he invited me to shoot and eat as many as I liked. Having only ever shot slingshots as a kid I decided to get one. The daisy I bought from Walmart made me sad :((. So I decided to look around. I found awesome vids on youtube and posts here. So I made my first natural on the 4th of December and bought some green Thera-band.

I gave my brother the Walmart daisy and I took my tapered butterfly double bands on a rough cut natural frame. My accuracy was exceptionally better the draw was much easier and 1/4" steel shot was noticeably faster in my rig. I was utterly surprised by what a little research could do and my brother stood thunderstruck at what my ugly stick could do!

I'm hooked.

Made this frame yesterday. It's a modified design from Pop shot called the "Tackhammer". Yesterday I made one for my brother and I. Finished with Burt's bees chap stick. In the background is my rough natural from the day before. The bands are from "Rejuvenation"??? "very heavy" latex exercise bands from Sports Authority for $9. I think I'll only use one band next time with a less extreme tapper for band life. It shoots like a rocket!
