I have come up with three different length, 1842 looped tube bandsets, that I am ready to offer the slingshot community. They will include the Ever Accurate Pouch that I have been selling for the past few months. The lengths I have chosen are a direct result of testing and feedback. I wanted to be sure the bands could be utilized in survival situations, as well as fun and competition. The chrony portion of the testing, was done the last time temps were in the lower 60's, which was about a month ago.

The length difference between each set is 1/4" in static loop length. This means holding the loop together, and measuring the length from the edge of the pouch, to the tip of the loop, without stretching.

Game Taker (GT) - 200FPS

Competition (COMP)

Sport - 180FPS

I will offer each bandset for $5.00 plus shipping.

The pouches are available for $.50 each, and they are made of genuine, top grain cowhide.

Folks, these pouches are as good as it gets. I shoot similar bandsets (looped 1842, same pouch) on several of my slingshots and I get 190 fps with .50 caliber lead at 85 degrees F.

Jim knows his stuff when it comes to bands! The construction of these is way beyond what anybody else is doing with Chinese tubes. I talk to Jim alot and can tell you that a ton of trial-and-error research went into finding just the right setup.
I did some of my best shooting recently with the bands Jim made that came with my SPS.

The best way to order is to drop me a PM with your request, and include a PayPal address so I can send you an invoice.

The Comp Bandset is 1/4" longer than the GT, and 1/4" shorter than the Sport. They shoot right around 190FPS.

The set of these I have is still going strong.
I haven't been counting shots but I can say with confidence that they have around 2000 shots on them.
Unbelievable!

Maybe I can help. I have a similar set of bands. Mine measure 7 1/4 inches pouch tie to loop. I use one of your pouches and I used 3/8 steel for these shots. I'll let the pictures tell the story.

My draw is 29 - 30". So that should be 205 - 210 maybe.

Not to beat a dead horse but I wanted to reiterate how much I like these bands.
I've chronicled my experimenting with several other setups recently and none compare to these. They're either slower (2040s, 107s) shorter lived (half-doubled and regular 107s) or heavier (h-d 107s). These sets have all the best attributes with none of the shortcomings.
Experimentation over, these are my bands of choice!

They outlast tapered flats by a long shot.

I've gotten at least 1500 shots out of all the sets I've used.

Looks like I'll have to get a set -I've been scrounging "once fired" 40 cal(165-180gr) and 45ACP(230 gr) handgun rounds( I have an unlimited supply) in addition to launching steel shot and marbles..What band set would you recommend. I am new to the slingshot world. (Actually about 35 yrs of on and off plinking, but now looking at real gear). i would guess the game taker.

Quick question - does black vs. amber have anything to do with band life/performance on these 1842s? Or do 1842s only come in black?

In my experience amber and black feel a tiny bit different but perform the same.

I have shot 1/2" with them, but make sure you have a good release technique. 3/8" and 7/16" are the most comfortable size ammo to shoot however.
