I've been doing a lot of board cut catapults lately. I do them with the most basic tools, a jigsaw (borrowed :)) and a Dremel with a flexi shaft. I bought some of these yesterday http://www.toolpost....er_carving.html and I have to say WOW! The little ones at the bottom of the page. These things rip out material at an alarming speed so if you do get some practice first. But if you are into homemades like me they are definately worth the cost.

Sorry forgot to say the Saburr tooth ones.

I Use one similar to then for cutting band grooves. It has a 1/8" shank and a 1/4" cylinder with tungsten carbide teeth. It works great even on things like purpleheart. I get them for $12.99 at Woodcraft. If you haven't got a flex shaft for your Dremel, get one. I love mine.
