I have been working on a design over the past three months that a few have heard mention of-

"The Hare Splitter"

I have gone through about 15 prototypes to get to the present state and with each one, I am becoming more and more convinced that I have designed the perfect shooting platform. So much so, that I immediately secured a provisional patent for my design and concept while I continued to work out the final elements of the look and feel.

It seems as though great slingshot minds think alike, and when Wingshooter displayed his straight wrist slingshot, I knew it was time to introduce to the enthusiast world "The Hare Splitter" whether it is perfected or not. The Hair Splitter incorporates many of the concepts found in traditional archery such as keeping the projectile close to the hand and reducing strain on the wrist by utilizing the skeletal structure rather than muscles and tendon. When these attributes are designed into the slingshot, it creates a slingshot that is easy on the joints, points with natural and intuitive ease, and helps to ensure good alignment through intentional design.

Check it out here and stay tuned for further developments

Wow that is a cool design! Look like a natural, but boardcut. Do you make the handle first and the glue the forks and finish them?

The ones shown are simply prototypes. The handle can be any material. The real innovation is the orientation of the forks to the handle, regardless of material.

But yes, that is how it is done.

A couple of weeks ago when Nathan and I did some shooting together he trusted in me and showed me the Hare Splitters and it's evolution to date. Too, he let me shoot them all. I don't think it was any bit of a quirk but I shot very well with them. Great design and ergonomics. I agreed with his mentor that that is truly an innovation and craftsmanship to protect.

What is amazing is how comfortable Nathan has made the design to hold and shoot.

The conclusion; I have asked and informed Nathan(a few times) I want to be first in the queue for the Hare Splitter.

I don't think you can fit it conveniently in your pocket so don't quit. Besides what fun would slingshots be without many styles to shoot.

I know you were being facetious.

But Nathan's design is truly something else. I liked it so much I hinted around with my enthusiastic expressions to Nathan that he might consider honoring me with one before the official presentation. His silence was my answer. Can't blame him. Waiting can make the arrival all the more sweet.

you lucky duck lol. I was totally being facetious . i cannot imagine anything that would stop me from making frames. It saturates my existence. I dont even know who i was a few months ago before i started slingshot making.
If nathan says this is a perfect platform shooter, then that sounds like a challenge!

Ray,

I am well on my way to making this design fit in your pocket!! I have several more prototypes under my provisional patent in process that are "folding" in nature and can accommodate various shooting styles and positions . This is just the twilight of the hopeful new dawn for our sport.

OMG, i was just playing around with the idea of a foldable design that is held together with steel bars.. I have two such keyfob bars that i could use for this purpose.
I once saw a review of a survival knife that you could attach a slingshot to the handle.. held together with such steel braces..
we should talk.

A nice new design. Darn! :) I guess that means another slingshot will soon have to join the stable. Looking forward to seeing the evolution as this design moves forward.

I am excited you are using it. And I am hoping you can cut me a sweet deal on one of those. BTW that Rocky Mtn. Pine Dymalux with a touch of color on the palm swell, is a knock out. Hint hint wink wink!

Yes, Nathan is a real master and a true researcher. He's design is intended to innovation for a continuous search for improvement of this sport. The final product is always tested and offers a very high standard of design and technology. I'd like to thank for his efforts and his enthusiasm in making slingshots. Cheers, Bob.

wow, to be honest i dont like the look of it but i can see that it takes a lot of strain of the wrist and looks easier to aim with, and also it looks like you gain a extra couple of inches on your draw length? which is great for extra speed :) its a very well thought design nathan, 10/10
