Good Day everyone:
I have been enjoying the forum and learning a lot. After finding the slingshot my dad gave me as a kid, (trumark wrist brace) and picking up a similar one for my son, we had a blast with them this summer. We shot rocks from shore at an empty plastic milk carton that we had anchored in about 15 feet of water. (didn't want to pollute the lake with lead or other ammo). Mostly taught me that rocks are unpredictable and that real ammo shoots much better. I was surprised how accuratly I shot the slingshot when I finally got to shooting real round ammo. Maybe going from the rocks to the real ammo was a good thing, it sure helped me realize how straight round ammo flies.
After lurking around the forum for a couple of weeks I have picked up some multiplex and been cutting and sanding some blanks, trying to find what I like and what feels good in my hand. Going to pick up a scroll saw this weekend to make it easier. I picked up a nice piece of mahogony the other day and am trying to decide what design to use it for. Most of my time has been spent printing all of your excellent designs (thanks!!).
Lastly, I have to say how beautiful some of wooden SS's i have seen here are. The workmanship and talent I have seen by some of the members here is awesome. I aspire to create something that is half as nice as the pieces I have seen.
that's it for now, gotta go print some more designs
