Hi,

Only just found your forum after, by accident, watching a video on youtube about using slingshots to shoot arrows. That video really caught my attention as I really love archery (any form of target shooting to be honest), but due to where I live and because of accident I had some years back, it is not so easy for me to get out there to shoot.

When I was a lad back in the UK I had quite a few slingshots, or catapults as we used to call them, all home made and until coming to live here in Portugal, always using model elastic (the square sort). When I got to Portugal I was introduced to what you call "flat" elastic which over here was simply huge rubber bands which we used to cut to make strips. Ruddy good little things as I recall.

Anyway, now I find that our humble slingshots have well and truly advanced into the 21 Century and now I am rather interested in re-kindling my interest in them and I am looking forwards to reading through this forum.

Welcome to the leading edge of slingshots of the 21st century. With internet shopping the materials are almost limitless. I shot for years with what i thought to be high end materials but i have learned so much through this forum. My designs are far different after looking at the world of slingshots through this portal. They are easy to draw and faster shooting. If you can purchase Theraband (or like) flat band material it will change your concept of what a slingshot is capable of.
