Hi, just been introduced to this forum by a fellow member I happened across through ebay.

Well, I'm 54, married guy, have been making catapults as we call them over here, for nigh on 40yrs now. Always preferred natural wood. My Grandad gave me my first one and then my Dad showed me how to make my own, and every one that I've made since has been constructed in exactly the same way and the design has stood me in good stead for all the years since.

I've lost count how many I've made over the years, and how many I've had confiscated by my teachers at school and by our local beat bobby.

I've only got two now that I use, but I must have about 20 forks in my shed for future builds.

I only do target shooting these days, well if you can call empty beer cans targets, lol, but I always have a good time.

When I find out how to post pictures I'll publish some.

Thanks for the warm welcome, from me and my dog, Fred. He's a large lurcher type dog, weighs in at around 65lbs. The rabbit in the pic was a rather large one, but he couldn't quite run as fast as Fred could.

His father is an English Mastiff / Greyhound cross and his mother is Collie / Spaniel. He's a great dog, lovely temprement and really clever. He responds to hand signals in the house but wont do it outside, lol. He's nearly 6yrs old so he's got some learning left in him. He's a great hunter. He's caught loads of rabbits, squirrels, rats, mice, a mole, a magpie and a few crows. He gets the birds because he's so fast. He gets the bigger birds because they need to run to take off. He nearly caught a Common Buzzard a few weeks back.

Welcome! I would love to see some photo's of your naturals. I am new to naturals but find them beautiful in their simplicity.
