i went out to do a spot of hunting today and the wind was realy bad and there wasn't a rabbit in sight, so i thought i would set my camara up and try a couple of out of the air shots, i have only ever shot the odd can out of the air so its realy all new to me, the only things i had to toss up was some marbles, a lighter and a couple of coins, unfortunately the shot when i hit the penny mid air was off camera (ARGHHH), but i have a couple of shots here for you, its definately somthing i will be trying again, -- gamekeeper john

thanks what does anybody think about throwing a playing card in the air and trying to cut it? do u think its possible? cheers

As far as a card shot, it might be hard if its as wind as it sounded in your video, but I am sure a man with your skills could accomplish that. I would assume the trick would be to try to add a spin to the card and "flick" it up. (I am not sure of the possibilities to do that though)


Looking forward to seeing a vid of this attempt, for sure. if not a cut a center Ace shot at the least.

I had the same thought John. I'm able to hit the card but haven't been able to cut it all the way through. Maybe you can since you use a little larger ammo than I usually use.... go for it, it'd be an epic shot!

Hey John, I Liked both of those shots. The Lighter Explodes and so does the Marble actually turns to glass powder. I'm careful about that dust from the Marble and wear complete eye coverage. Just a thought. And I sure would like to hear a coin Whizzing through the air. Your shooting is very entertaining and since your including Aerial shooting perhaps others will.

Oh, and I have tossed the playing card and shot a few but it was a rather uneventful sort of thing so I quickly went on to something else mostly because cards are just not for me, I like something with action and noise together.

John, Had I seen you shooting like this a couple of years ago I would have been motivated to only buy your slingshots rather than coming up with the PFS. So by that Logic your sales should go out of sight just like those marbles did. This is really an excellent promotional demonstration for the slingshots you make. It's close enough to see it, it's real, and it's doable.

If you make the card spin a lot, it should have more stability in flight.

Yes spin is what you have to do with the card to get it airborne long enough to draw down on it.... but that spin also makes it more difficult to cut it in half.
For me, I'm thinking I might take out one of my .22 pistols load it up with CBs and see if the thrown card cut can be done at all. If I can get the bullet all the way through the card cleanly, spin and everything.... then it should be possible with a slingshot.

I think I might have posted this before on another thread dgui, but I will post again with regard to you liking " action and noise " together. Just carefully strip the red phosphorus tips off of 10 matches ( not safety ) and wrap them tightly in a small aluminum cooking foil ball and throw. If you hit them with a 3/8" you should get a real bang, and a bright flash if you do this in falling light. Thanks.
