Hey
i just got my cheif aj ss . i ordered the black band model. i am used to shooting my trumark ss with the wrist brace. As i shoot the cheif aj , i wonder is it hard to shoot cause i never shot the this kind not using the brace and i need my left fingers to strengthen ? Or did i go to heavy with the black
bands ?
should i i get lighter bands ?

The black bands are heavy. However if you finger brace the forks you can probably pull them just fine. I own a few chief AJ models and that is how I do it.

Hey
I switched the bands , i put beige bands from my trumark fs1 on my cheif aj and put the heavy black ones on my trumark. I am figuring its better to learn the cheif aj method with the lighter bands and the black bands on my trumark will make it alot more powerful.
p.s. after u install bands with the alcohol how long should i wait to use them ?

i appreciate any help

If the Chief would go 2 inch longer on his tubes they would still be powerful and it would be an easier pull. The tubes are just too short. Does he still use those plastic connectors that have a habit of rendering that nasty hand slap?

Yea darrel I hate them plastic pieces of Crap... my frame hand, fingers more specifically, are quite used of the odd mild slap here and there, but this is how I split the normally callised fingers them bloody plastic connectors... I can usually shoot through most hand slaps, but after this one, I needed a break...
Last photo is my nice smooth hand lol no slaps...

Oh Yea Bullseye, The famous plastic connector hand slap. Those black tubes could be used Butterfly but they are just too short. Wish these companies that make these replacements you can readily purchase in stores would be a bit too long so they could be better utilized for more shooters. And get rid of those nasty clips.

I shoot the clipped tubes all the time and have no problems at all. Plus I can easily get a 40" draw out of them. However if you want good tubes for the AJ (All the tubes he uses are trumark tubes FYI) get the RRT tubes. There are no clips on those and they can be drawn very far if needed.

I like to draw 58 inches for a more on target flight I require that extra bit of pull. I guess it is not the tubes so it must be me.

58 inches? None of your videos reflect that at all.

Hey Natural Fork, I know you can't see when I am pulling the pouch behind my head and it is my purpose to have the slingshot be the object and not view me unless it is necessary but my Butterfly draw at full draw is 58 inches but I don't always do that because much of the time it is not required and if I should miss there is no telling what damage I could inflict. But I will show it at the right time and make note of it on video.

I'm a long draw bloke, and me main ammo is 9mm lead, the black set up is fine with heavier amo,but such a heavy tube with short draw don't suit light ammo, I'm only referring to replacrment tubes for I believe trumark, no personal referrals.. after about 10 shot and 8 bad slaps the plastic clasp shattered, lucky not in an eye...

You have posted vids in the past where we could see your entire draw. Admittedly though that was a long time ago and your draw very well could have changed since then.

FYI.
Highly recommend the rubber grip from Tex.
Ones he sell for the hawk.
It's difficult to put it on, but it sooooo much improves the grip.
Therefore improves the pull and just better.

The RRT tubes do work well on the slingshot.

You can use flat rubber also on that slingshot. -- Tex
