New to the forum but been making flips ever since I can remember (60+years). Awesome place Ya'll have here (Yeah! I'm from Georgia . . . USA Georgia . . . the South. My "Pappy" survived the depression shooting rabbits with his flip. Taught me to make them right after I learned to walk ;) . Well, Ole' Trop Storm, Lee came blusterin' through and I spent some time on the saws in the shop. Nothing fancy, just a few from your "Shared Slingshot Designs" section and a couple of naturals. Results attached. Really learned a lot here already. You guys are extremely talented.Attached File  Flips.jpg   144.31K   53 downloads

Welcome from Kansas. Great history. I would love to see some of your originals. Like Pappy used to make.

Yep

Rocks
Marbles
Steel Balls

Next door neighbor was cleaning out his junk room (divorce) and found about several packages of the old Marksman 1/4" hunting shot. Gave'em to me! Got a pic somewhere.

Here ya go. I've given most of'em away. Got one down in Costa Rica. Weather cools some I've gotta scrounge up some more forks.

Another Edit:
We made them much like Rufus Hussey. We wrapped the band over the fork rather than doubling the band and tying it to only one side of the fork. Usually made the forks and pouches a bit smaller than the Hussey. Also raided Mother's Crochet bag for string rather than using rubber bands to tie the band.
