Making the Formed Pouch

I am making this blog to tell how I make a single pocket pouch and why.
1ST, I choose and grade the leather for quality. 2ND, I click the blank on bias . 3RD, I water soak the blank. 4TH, I load the blank into the die while wet. 5TH, I let the die set for over 5 hours. 6TH, I then unload the blank. 7TH, I let the blank finish drying and shrinking for over 5 hours. 8TH, I click trim the formed blank. 9TH, I grade the blank heavy or light for different pull weights. 10TH, I make a quality control inspection of every pouch. I can make up to 42 formed pouches a day.
I make a single pocket pouch because I believe in its all around superior utility in shooting. I only sell it in completed band assemblies. It is not quite as accurate as a flat pouch (without any centering or “vent” holes) but is so close that it is hard to tell the difference. It is a great pouch for shooting round balls in all sizes up to 1/2 inch diameter of glass, steel or lead. It is also OK for shooting balls of 5/8 and 3/4 inch in diameter. One question; why is a flat pouch the most accurate?
