Performance Catapults SPS

Posted by NightKnight, 04 January 2012 - * * * * * · 4,358 views

This is my review of my latest slingshot, which is designed and produced by Jim Harris at Performance Catapults. It is called the SPS.

I ordered mine in Cocobolo. I chose Cocobolo because of its beauty. I find the Dark wood, with defined grain pattern very pleasing to the eye. Well, my eye anyway. But, I also chose it for practical reasons. Cocobolo is a...

Review: Tex-shooter "Express" Latex Bands

Posted by NightKnight, 06 February 2010 - - - - - - · 2,246 views

Here is my review of the Tex-shooter Express Bands:

Construction:
I have to say that these are well made bands, and consist of two latex strips on each side. The tie on the pouch seems to use a natural fiber thread, and is tied (from what I can tell) using a secure constrictor knot. The pouch is smaller than average, which Bill says give you higher...

Review: Flatband Ergo

Posted by NightKnight, in Custom Slingshots, Commercial Slingshots 06 February 2010 - - - - - - · 630 views

This is my review of the Flatband Ergo.

Construction:
First off, I got the maple version of the Ergo. The bands are Linatex in 3/4 x 1/16 and have good pull weight for their power. The bands are of course attached in the Over The Top method. They were attached very well, using attachment bands that were the same color as the Linatex that came on...

Review: Saunders Pipper

Posted by NightKnight, in Commercial Slingshots 06 February 2010 - * * * * * · 612 views

A quick review of the Saunders Pipper optical sight.

Construction:
It is made from clear plastic, and seems to be made in two pieces. It has a slot on each side of the unit to glue in a small bubble level. This allows for ambidextrous use. It has a sturdy feeling in the hand.

Fit & Finish:
It seems to be a well made piece overall. It holds the bands...
